Benedikt Hesse Trio
featuring Volker Deglmann + Gero Koerner
New Orleans hits Cuba. Drums meets Organ and Trumpet.
The trio of drummer Benedikt Hesse masters the balancing act between
openness and a clear reflection on the tradition of Afro-American and Latin-American music culture.
There maybe only 3 people on stage but with the instrumentation it sounds like a full band and sometimes almost like an orchestra.
Yes it´s jazz music but with the mission to dance. The Benedikt Hesse Trio evokes the feelings of a New York jazz club. Feel free to dance, drink, and let loose.
Hammond organ, trumpet and drums are powerful Instruments and therefore no surprise that they have been used in used in church
Above all Gero Koerner on the Hammond organ is called upon, who
has a double function and is responsible for harmony and bass at the same time. The instrument gives the band a unique character acoustically and visually.
Also Volker Deglmann, the trumpeter and flugelhorn player, has a special role as a soloist. In addition he arranged many of the pieces.
The three musicians are team players and have already performed together with numerous national and international acts.
